Follow the Step By Step Process to Get Started
Step 1: Create your free Hosting account.Click Here to signup.
Step 2: Create your free Domain to use with your site.Click Here to create your Free Domain.
After creating your Hosting and Domain account, you need to put your registered domain in the CONTROL PANEL of your site. See the Live Video to create your free hosting and domain account and to edit your site.
Edit Your Site Without HTML Knowledge
You can edit your site and publish online without the knowledge of HTML or any scripts. You can edit your site as you work in Microsoft Word Document or any other. You can edit your website online from your browser easily with few clicks.Proceed the below steps
This process of online editing method need some initial process to start. You have to install a software to your website to start this. This is an initial process for first time and it takes only 15-30 Minutes. Once you have done this, you can edit your site from anywhere in online. The software is provided from Joomla's open source content management system. Just follow the below steps to do that.Step 1: Download the Joomla Software script. Click Here to download. After downloading, extract the packages to a folder. When you extract, you will get a list of 8 .zip files. Pls, DON'T EXTRACT THE .ZIP FILES, You have to keep it as such.
Step 2: Upload the 8 .zip files to your server. To do this, Login to your ONLINE FILE MANAGER from your CPANEL ACCOUNT (If you want to know about Online file Manager and Cpanel account, pls see the video tutorials above). After logging in to your FTP, select the site name and enter into the HTDOCS folder. There you have to Upload the 8 .ZIP files one by one. To upload these files, click the UPLOAD button and you can see two upload methods as one for normal upload and other for zip files. Upload these files in the Zip upload tab, so that the server will extract the files itself. After uploading and extracting all the 8 .Zip files, you can see 15 Directories and 11 Files. If you do not see these files and folders, then there was some mistake with your upload. Remember that you should not keep any other extra files or folders in the place where you are uploading, as it will become an error. If you want to use this method for a previous website, please make a backup copy of your site and delete the files and folders before uploading.
Step 3: Now go to your Control Panel account and create a new MYSQL database. To do this, click on "MySQL Databases" under the "Database Management" menu of your Control Panel. There enter the name of your database and click the create button. Remember the name of your database as it is needed for your Joomla installation.
Step 4: Install the Joomla to your server. Go the URL where you have uploaded the joomla files, i.e http://www.YOURSITE.freesite2you.com or www.YOURDOMAIN.co.cc.
There you can see the Joomla installation wizard. First choose the relevant language for your site and click the next button. Next it checks for
server details, you do not need to do anything here and simply press the next button. Next the license will be displayed, here also simly
click the Next button.
Then the Database configuration is to be done. Enter the below details for database management.
Database Type: mysql
Host Name : sql5.freesite2you.com
Username : YOUR CPANEL USER NAME
Password : YOUR CPANEL PASSWORD
Database Name: ENTER THE DATABASE NAME YOU HAVE CREATED IN CPANEL
Then click the Next button. Next is FTP configuration, give your ftp username and password and click the next button.
Then Main Configuration occurs, here give your Site Name, E-mail Id and Admin Password and click the next button. Thats all you were done.
But one more step is there before you Finish, Login to your FTP account where you have uploaded the Joomla files and DELETE the folder named "installation".
This is very important to do before you start editing you site.
After this, type your website address in the browser and you can see the blank webpage. To edit you site, visit http://www.YOUSITENAME.co.cc/administrator.
And you will be asked to give the username and password. The default username is "admin" and give the password you have
entered in the Main Configuration of Joomla installation. After logging in, You can Edit you site as you do in MSWord. By default
the Joomla template will be installed. You can also install new templates for your website.
